Collection: Rice Pattern Tableware

Rice Pattern China, also known as Rice Grain Porcelain, is a type of porcelain made in Jingdezhen, China.

It is called the ‘Rice Grain’ pattern because it resembles a grain of rice. The pattern is characterized by rice-shaped translucent elements.

It was thought for many years that the rice-shaped elements were made by inserting rice grains into the clay before glazing and firing, but this is not the actual method of manufacture.
